Ida Sand turns up the heat with new single / Burning

The songs’ title Burning by jazz/soul singer Ida Sand, describes the heat radiating from her smoking new release.

The needle sets into this smooth tempo, jazzy groove and spins with spirit-lifting energy. We last praised the Swedish artists’ album My Soul Kitchen for its uptown jazz-infused sleekness and Burning sounds like a return to the heart of her home. As the chorus hits, Idas’ soaring vocals inspire with soul-stirring tones. The musical undercurrents of rippling keys, creamy bass, and electrifying guitar turn her smouldering lyrics of frustrations into flames!

Written and arranged by Ida Sand, the tracks accompaniment reads like a who’s-who in Swedens’ jazz scene: Jesper Nordenström (Organ, synths, vibraphone), Ola Gustafsson (Acoustic and electric guitars), Dan Berglund (Upright bass and Höfner bass), Per Lindvall (Drums and percussion), Per “Ruskträsk” Johansson (Saxophone), Goran Kajfes (Trumpet), Anders von Hofsten (Backup vocals) and Mats Öberg – Harmonica (features on the forthcoming album track – “Waiting”). *Note – not all feature on this single*

On a Facebook post, Ida Sands’ comments on her forthcoming album Do You Hear Me? summarises the space where her new music emerged:

“The recording of “Do you hear me?” was an extraordinary experience. A few months into the pandemic, we met up in the studio, not really knowing what would become of it all. Just started playing some songs I brought with me. Because of the cancelled tours etc. it felt like we had all the time in the world to really go nuts with all the ideas that came to mind. This album is literally made out of true playfulness and creative flow. And I am so excited to share that with you soon’.
