This is just the beginning for Danish/American singer Micala, and the 20-year-old artist is setting off her career with a sad love story titled – My Truth. Just released is her debut video.
“My Truth is a song about someone that means the world to me,” explains Micala. “That someone, you let into your heart and then realise that this person is so special you almost can’t breathe without them. It’s a very personal story about the vulnerability we all feel, and the strength it takes to let yourself fall in love and let go.”
With a tormented love story, and a voice seeped in heavy heartbreak ‘My Truth’ will make you stop and listen to her every word.

Micala’s journey
Micala was raised in a brownstone (an American townhouse) in Brooklyn, by her Danish mother and Afro American father.
Being in a multicultural and bilingual home she had a lot of different musical influences like Lenny Kravitz, Sade and Isaac Hayes, as well as a range of Danish artists. She moved to Copenhagen with her mother, when she was 16 years old and has been living there ever since. It was here she started working with local artists and her musical journey began.
Micala’s first single ‘My Truth’ (including remixes by Unkwon and JStar), will be available on ITunes, Spotify, etc on Friday, February 12th, 2016. The single will be followed up by an EP release spring 2016.
Micala is definitely one to look out for.
