Swedish born and Australia based artist Lhēon releases her new single Lay low and delivers impeccable mellow soul.
LHĒON (Helena) was born in Sweden, and since 2015 called Melbourne, Australia home. An avid follower of the Scandinavian Soul scene Lhēon has been working as a backing singer while creating her own material.
Lhéon describes herself as having ‘a knack of conjuring sounds-of-the past into an exploration of the future.‘ It’s a knack that comes to life in Lay Low where she demonstrates this beautifully.
Produced with engaging depth, the piano keys sparkle from beginning to end. As Lhéon reminisces about the end of a relationship, her beautifully balanced harmonies conjure heart-warming vibes reminiscent of artists such as Cherrelle and Karyn White. Listen out for Lhéon wonderfully catchy vocal ad-libs midway through (2.22).
I’m sure Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis would have loved to have worked with Lhéon in the ’80s.
Regardless, we still get to enjoy her vibes today!

I also highly recommend diving into her past release ‘elique‘ below. Inspired by such as Jill Scott it’s a sign of an artist whose journey will be exciting to follow!
