Slackin Beats debuts with genre-defining single / Seasalt (feat. Maydar)
From something sad, grows something beautiful.
A multi-layer of sound and textures with lush vocals await in Seasalt, the debut single from Swedish producer Slackin Beats.
Slackin Beats is one of the most exciting and active producers/DJ in Sweden at the moment. During 2019/20 he released a host of collaborative projects; 2Infinity, Lost, Breaking Down and Through The Day, together with his latest beat tape “pieces”. Slackin Beats is also the founder of the Swedish music collective called So&Such established in 2016.
His new release Seasalt encapsulates the soul of Scandinavia.
The warmth of the bright blue skies of summer and the deep black bitterness of winter. The pleasure. And the pain.
The beats echo with a nordic dark menace and the heartbroken lyrics, exquisitely sung by Maydar (Alexandra Shanahan) are hauntingly heartfelt, soulful and yet warm.
Describing the concept of the song Slackin Beats said;
“Seasalt is about a relationship with someone that started good but after a while ends with sadness and heartache. Therefore it feels like you add some seasalt to the wound.”

Maydar
Maydar is an exciting independently driven singer, songwriter, producer and DJ based in Stockholm with roots in Ireland and Italy. She effortlessly mixes modern R&B and pop with personal and relatable lyrics with a twist. Maydar released four singles during 2018 which gained the attention of Swedish National radio and several music critics. The debut EP ‘Fool Me Twice‘ landed in May 2019 and included the singles ‘Sweet Talk‘ and ‘Body Bag‘.
