The Show is the first time we’ve heard Swedish newcomer Linn Cervell – and we’re nothing short of impressed! The pop/ soulful single is part of her upcoming EP and shows proof of excellent songwriting, a high-quality production, and a soulful and mature voice.
Linn has a long history of writing self-therapeutic songs, and this particular one is about the imposter syndrome. The lyrics are thoughtful, and the singer’s annunciation is a crystal clear cloudless blue sky, resulting in a striking delivery of the song’s message.

What is also compelling is the difficulty of putting a label on when it comes to genre affiliation. It’s not strictly ‘Scandinavian soul’ we hear a lot of soul in it. The verses have some country elements, the breaks that add to the song’s dynamic have clear funk vibes, and the catchy chorus is pop music at its tempting best. As the song ends, it undeniably gives us nostalgic ’90s rock feels. Whether or not you label it, the quality is unmistakable. As our motto says, we cover soulful music from Scandinavia, and this is it for sure.
The song gives us the sensation of a star of tomorrow. Aged just 21, if this is the quality she delivers in such an early stage of her career, we are beyond excited to hear what the future has in store for her.
The Show is taken from her new EP Introspection Collection.
