Produced by Anthony Koopman, Far Away‘s soulful afro house groove allows the mind to envision a nightclub where palm trees sway, and the DJ wears shades and shorts. The track meets at the intersection of house music and Amapiano vibrations. First heard in South Africa, Amapiano is a deep house hybrid of jazz and lounge music characterised by synths, airy pads and expansive percussive basslines.
Pearl was born in Botswana to a native mother and an Indian father and moved to Denmark when she was 14. Her African ancestry provides this 5+ min track authenticity and lush cultural colour.
Far Away isn’t Pearl’s first venture into dance music. Her previously released single Change is also sure to delight dance-seeking movers…like us!
Far Away is her second release from her forthcoming project ‘Fragments of my Soul‘, which she describes as a blend of genres from Soul, Pop, Dance, Afro, Blues and Jazz.
