British singer and virtuoso pianist Reuben James has dropped his new single – Tunnel Vision an enticing teaser from his forthcoming mixtape.
A dreamy, neo-soul gem, it comes to our attention as it features a host of collaborators that includes Swedish singer-songwriter Frida Touray. Frida is the lead singer of UK band Native Dancer whose exquisite album Tides explores future soul and jazz.
Tunnel Vision also featuring South London jazz-soul singer/guitarist Tom Misch, and British singer-songwriter Gareth Daley. The result is smooth ice-melting single fluid in vocal melodies and wraps you in a blanket of warming pleasure.
“Tunnel Vision is my latest offering featuring the hugely talented Daley and Frida Touray. Super chill, winter, cosy vibes – a love song about only having eyes for one person. Tom Misch blessed the song on guitar and Elliott Skinner on background vocals. I’m really proud of it.”
Reuben James is considered one of the most exciting artists to have emerged from the UK in recent years, and if this is your first encounter, you’ll undoubtedly want to explore more.
Reuben’s mixtape is due for release in early 2021 and promises to continue his exploration into deep beats, catchy grooves and heavy jazz and soul influences.
Thanks to the Swedes, it looks the Brits are still part of Scandinavia after all.
