Solkatten & Monologen cover slow jam in soul and reggae

Newly discovered on Soundcloud, Solkatten & Monologen reimagine and rework a classic slow jam and infuse it with Swedish soul and a reggae groove.

Their version of Barry Whites seductive single  It’s Only Love Doing Its Thing, remains alluring with the lyrics translated to Swedish (with inventive differences) by the deep, rich tones of Solkatten, aka Frosche Renmark (Soweco). Together with Monologen (Petter Edlund), the pair revitalize the sense of red-velvet romance with a rhythmical smooth-funk production and warm Swedish melodies massaged in.

In another gliding arc, Frosche Renmark imagined their version with a reggae backbeat. And who wouldn’t be seduced by the sweet rhythm of reggae? After all, it’s only love doing its thing baby!
