Stoned Academy presents the new soul: OKAT

Our exciting discovery of the new soul sounds in Scandinavia continue with a simply stunning debut single ‘Forgive & Forget‘ from OKAT.

OKAT is the deep, silky voice of Katja de Neergaard, a 25-year-old singer from the Copenhagen based label collective the Stoned Academy. With some of Denmark’s most talented producers behind her, OKAT is out to show the world her vocal talents, and from our conversations so far, very pleasant personality!

Her new single “Forgive & Forget” features a soulful, introspective production by Jabar Ligla, which is promised to be the first in a line of many to come. The track is mixed and arranged by Bobotron and mastered by Joel Krozer @SIXBITDEEP.

A full-length release from OKAT is expected at a later date.

Quality Sound

Stoned Academy is an extended family of producers and vocalists from Copenhagen, Denmark. A group of musicians with an array of styles, who share the same love for large vinyl collections, the golden age hip hop, hardware samplers and synthesizers, Dilla and D.I.T.C.

Though having existed for many years, Stoned Academy was recently reformed as a record label, so we should expect many more exciting releases in the future.
