Amalie Bryde has added creative visuals to her new release Colours (Demo). And as lyric videos continue to evolve, this is one of the best we’ve seen.
The Danish artist’s single colours sat amongst the surge of outstanding releases in Fridays Soulwave. I summarised it as quite simply beautiful, and the visual realisation is as enthralling as the song. Irrespective of the title ‘demo’, the release radiates a rawness, intimacy and vulnerability from an unguarded, loving confession.
In the video, the lyrics come to life, and this soulful ballad of love is a paintbrush of wonder for the mind.
‘The song has a very personal meaning for me,’ explains Amalie. ‘It is all about making the other person in the relationship aware of how beautiful they are when they open up and let their guard down. Vulnerability can’t always be sunny, but that’s the beauty of it. There has to be rain before the colours will reveal itself.’

Since leaving the moniker of Kool Kat, Amalie Bryde has continued to impress with tracks such as Remote Control, You & Me and now Colours (Demo). Her inventive sound, depth of thought and playful musical sensibilities mean her future collected work already tick the ‘unmissable’ box.
