TWENTYNINE SOULS (SWE) / Painted in White

There’s still time to squeeze in one more soul track to summarise another exquisite year of soul music from Scandinavia, and Swedish band Twentynine Souls happily oblige.

2015 ends with perhaps the years best titled single – Painted in White – 6 plus minutes of sumptuous, smooth jazzy /soul.

Anna Nordell provides the tender lead vocals on this late-night winter warmer, with the accompaniment of tight instrumentation by Johan Edin, Jesper Hellqvist, Sebastian Broberg, Andreas Bjurström and Henrik Nordén.

Released on 23 December, Painted in White is currently riding high at No 1 in the iTunes R&B chart!

As the 2016 Scandinavian Soul Music Awards draw closer, it’s fitting the year should end with the band who were one of the highlights from the 2015 Awards night.
