Artemis (featuring Pink Siifu), the recent release from Nanna.B, is chill-out nu-soul – mesmerising, hypnotic and visualised with naked sensuality.
One of Denmark’s nu-soul pioneers, Nanna.B is a spiritually conscious artist whose soundscapes consistently deliver a sensory experience with a connection to nature. For example, Champagne, in which she bathes in petals, and No Flowers (see below), adorned in a floral outfit, are ideal illustration videos.
Nanna.B’s ode to Artemis – the goddess of the hunt, is a bewitching dose of nu-soul underlined by an irresistible, laid-back head-nodding groove. With a 4+ minute run time, it insnares you into this huntresses lair. It also features US artist Pink Siifu‘s, whose slick rap contrasts her melodies without unbalancing.
A sumptuous track, there is something compelling and sensitive about the simple video of petals gently falling and lifting from her.
