AWA questions self-worth in new R&B single / Who’s Asking
Swedish R&B artist continues to rise.
AWA – who has the best self-description ever, ‘a bad bitch who meditates‘, continues to make her impact in Swedens R&B scene with her new single – Who’s Asking.
The R&B single delivers with sonic modernity, smart lyrics and slick production to awaken international radio stations!
The question, asked together with producers Ebenezer (Ty Dolla $ign, Stefflon Don, Ashnikko, Tion Wayne) and Eyelar, is about self-worth and not accepting situations that do not feel entirely right for oneself.
Describing the track and in answer to the question, AWA says,
“For me, this world represents the insight after a long journey of self-love where you discover what is important for you with your partner and that your emotional availability is based solely on ‘Who’s Asking’. Also, I am simply not interested in starting or maintaining something that is not there to lift, motivate and grow together.”

AWA (Awa Santesson Sey) rose to fame in Sweden after winning the Swedish edition of X Factor in 2012. Since then, she has come a long way, releasing several R&B singles and an EP. She currently has close to 35 million streams on Spotify and, in 2021, became one of Spotify’s RADAR artists.
She also launched two swimwear collections together with Nelly.com, made a global campaign for L’Oréal and most recently fronted Notion Magazine’s November issue (2021).
