Danish soul-singer / jazz pianist BAUN follows his recent release, The Mask, with a jazzy/soul tribute to women – Sister.
In the eyes of men, women of often highly desired but too often disrespected. Through his soulful/jazzy canvas, BAUN offers women a supportive voice and reminds boys and men to appreciate the women in their lives.
Released by record label Wontune, Sister is layered in jazzy crafted orchestration, the sense of a live-recorded session gives the single a room-filling presence. The keys dance like night stars. Baun’s warm and charming vocal style (feels like he smiles when he sings) enhance the engaging dynamics on this full-length track.
The soulful Scandinavian sings: “We’re strong when we’re together” with a hope that women and men can find each other again, with equality as the foundation, and work towards a better future.
Talking about the single BAUN said
“Sister is a song about daring to seize the opportunity right now. I wrote the song as a reminder for myself that life IS now. We can do many things alone, but together with another person, we can do even more.”
It’s still a man world but remains nothing, nothing without a woman or a girl.
Or good music like this.
