Bobby Oroza announces new album, US tour and single release
The Finnish king of cool takes his soul to the US.
Bobby Oroza has announced his new vinyl album Get On The Otherside, a US tour and his latest single, The Otherside.
Available to pre-order on Big Crown Records/Timmion Records, Get On The Otherside follows his acclaimed debut album This Love and will deliver another chance to dive into his unique shades of Soul.
Backed by the phenomenal Cold Diamond and Mink, On The Otherside serves a new slice of his cross-over soul. The dawn of spring floats from the guitar chords with the optimism of better times as Bobby’s vocals soothe, layered in soft echoes.
Bobby, a father and husband, felt compelled to act when covid brought an abrupt halt to the music scene. Suddenly the Finnish singer/songwriter found himself back in the construction yard, doing blue-collar work to support his family with no tours or studio time to fill. “I was super grateful for the work—a lot of my colleagues didn’t have an option like that,” Bobby admits.
Several personal setbacks prompted him to face and work through some harsh realities. As a result, Bobby’s forthcoming album, Get On The Otherside, aptly describes what he’s been through. He had to deconstruct his ego’s old ways of thinking and tried tactics to anchor into a renewed perspective and understanding.
As Bobby tells it, “I had to do some real self-searching, come to terms with what was wrong, and how much of it I was responsible for.” So how does this translate to the new album? Moments of clarity as to where the real value in life lies on “I Got Love,” encouraging numbers like the title track “The Otherside“, and declarations of self-actualisation on “My Place, My Time.” Even the more straightforward love songs are outside the box lyrically, like “Sweet Agony” and “Loving Body.”
