The opening words of Halfblood? the new single from F.U.N.C. opens the pathway into the intriguing and insightful world of the Finnish/Dutch duo.
The nordic dark pair produce an alternative form of R&B fused with organic percussion originality. F.U.N.C. consists of Misha and Chai Mizou “Blaq” and their latest single – Halfblood? developed from the duo’s roots which lay in Finland, Ukraine, Netherlands and the Congo.
In F.U.N.C.’s words
“It’s an existential thought process of someone with parents from different countries. There’s a lot of rumour about it; people call them halfbloods, doublebloods, metisse… It’s about race war of the world to be fought within one person.
I can’t find a beautiful way of saying it, but both me and Mika have multiple origins, and our duo is about that thing. About the love of it.”
Deliciously dark, while deep in contemplation and personal reflection F.U.N.C. symbolise innovative R&B increasingly moving forward.
