New duo Yehra has released an impeccable debut single – Daydreaming.
Listening to this single it’s clear Yehra have filled the void Quadron left in 2013 with a song of equally exquisite listening.
The soulful tones of Jen Mahon (lead singer -top photo) are soothing and tranquil with lyrics that, as the title suggests, arouse the imagination. The production, by Rasmus Liebst, is equally chilled, awaking coastal senses and warm sea breezes. The chords arrive in the chorus like gentle waves.
Daydreaming is musical escapism in its purest and best form.
Who are Yehra
Yehra is an electronic pop duo consisting of two modern age pen pals. Sending ideas over the Atlantic, Barbadian-Canadian singer Jen Mahon and Danish producer Rasmus Liebst have been working together for almost a decade – without ever having met in real life.
At first glance, Mahon and Liebst seem like an unlikely team.

Mahon’s previous releases are influenced by the sun-kissed soundtrack to her upbringing in Barbados. In contrast, Danish Liebst’s sound is inspired by Nordic coolness, which he heard in his Danish/Icelandic electronica group Kúra. In meeting with each other’s musical roots, the two musicians have found a mutually inspiring foothold.
What does the name Yehra mean?
The duo wanted to create a name with no specific meaning in English, so the listener is open to make their associations. For them, Yehra just felt right for the music.
It feels right for us too!
Their debut single ‘Daydreaming’ marks the first of several forthcoming releases with an EP due June 18.
