One of the Jokers’ ominous catchphrases is ‘why so serious?‘ (The Dark Knight).
He might be a fictitious, murderous, sadistic psychopath, but he was right to ask. Music too can forget to see a lighter side to this crazy thing called life.
Bringing more fun to a particularly grim year is multifaceted artist Jasmine Kara. The Swedish artist’s latest release unites womanhood with her new bluesy/pop single ‘Cash Is Queen‘ (co-written and produced by Oliver Forsmark) as she reverses the roles of men and the power of money.
Her raspy, bluesy voice nails the chorus line with its fitting, lyrical wordplay.
“Cash is Queen – you know what I mean…”
Back in Sweden after several years in the US, Jasmine Kara also debuts as the music video’s director, filmmaker and editor. Together with a team of her friends, she humorously exposes the many sides to toxic masculinity inc. boardroom dominance, casual sexism and ‘nut shuffling’. Hopefully, the tongue-in-cheek video should give some males pause for thought!
Cash Is Queen underlines Jasmine Kara as a notable artist and entertainer. And she succeeds as both.
