We can help decipher the cryptic title with singer Kinck and a mix of R&B and trap.
The Danish/Senegalese songstress is a one-woman whirlwind of colourful creativity and musical exploration, and today she’s released her new single – Twisted.
The borderless singers’ track is best described as alternative R&B and like the title itself intertwined with Kinck’s soft yet dark vocals. In reflection of the singer herself, it swims against the mainstream to refreshing future sounds.
Kinck is teaming up with Danish creative Director SVLSTG to create visuals for Twisted with the debut video due for release in the coming weeks.
Kinck, who has one of the most visually expressive Instagram accounts currently splits her time between Los Angeles; London and her native city of Copenhagen, Denmark.
This is the second release from Kinck this year and follows her debut single Blind Spot which featured on major playlists in both the UK and Canada.
Describing the Twisted Kinck says: ”I was walking around with the title Twisted on my mind before writing the song and it wasn’t before I finished the lyrics that I really knew what the song was about. It tells a story about growing out of your insecurities and learning self-love despite of society’s very limited view of beauty and success”.
Kinck is an independent artist, releasing her music on her own record label Sad Unicorn, based in her hometown of Copenhagen, where she focuses on developing new female talent. She is also working on a t-shirt collection featuring different female illustrators drawing the Sad Unicorn that represents the magic that sometimes goes undiscovered in the music industry.
