Swedish artist Rahwa revisits her single All Eye See and captures the reworked rendition in a new live, unplugged recording, and it oozes sumptuous soul.
Produced by Oskar Skarp, All Eye See (2019) is the single that drew our attention to Rahwa, and since the very first play, it never let go. The beefy bass notes, solid R&B groove, and heart-shaped lyrics made this an endlessly playable release.
“All Eye See is not about love for a romantic partner”, explained Rahwa. “The song deals with the sadness that comes from denying yourself what you truly desire and finally getting yourself out of that place. It’s about the relationship one has with one’s dreams and goals in life. All Eye See is about the love I found in accepting all of myself.”
Maintaining her desire to perform while the stages were closed, Rahwa recorded a reimagined, unplugged version.
“I want to give the listener a live experience with this rendition of the song. This is how it would have sounded like if Corona wasn’t a thing, and I’d be able to hit the stage.”
This version presents a softer, slower arrangement, with Rahwa’s soulfully smooth vocals drenched in neo-soul vibrations. The group dynamics from the intricate guitar chords to the gentle background vocalists are retained in the audio.
It’s a pleasure bath of soul.
Rahwa is an artist to watch. And when the stages reopen, let’s make that a reality.
