Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but it’s the pain of the present that must be fought through. In her new single “What If,” Norwegian-Pakistani singer Saima navigates the emotional turmoil of a past relationship through a sumptuous R&B lens.
The mellow, 90s R&B production and heartfelt lyrics of ‘What If‘ encapsulate Saima’s feelings of heartbreak and regret. Each soulful note delves into the depths of her story, allowing listeners to empathise with her vulnerability in the aftermath of a broken relationship.
“‘What If’ is about being in an unhealthy relationship but not being able to leave due to the emotional investment. It’s a one-way street. You’re left wondering if you did something wrong, if you should have done something differently, or if this would have happened regardless of who was in the relationship,” explains Saima.
Her vocals stand toe-to-toe with any US R&B release, affirming her growing presence in Norway and the Scandinavian soul scene.
With ‘What If,’ Saima sets the stage for high expectations and we eagerly anticipate more of her smooth R&B creations.
“I am constantly evolving as an artist, and it now feels like I have finally landed. This EP is some of the best work I have created,” Saima shares.
‘What If‘ is the first single from her upcoming EP, promising more heartfelt and evocative music to come.
