Tracks you shouldn’t miss this January!
The snowy, cold winter start to 2015 in these Nordic regions immediately warmed up when artists started posting a number of demos on SoundCloud. We’ve picked out several freshly made grooves for your listening pleasure.
KIT
Kit recently released her debut single ‘Slap Af’, sung in Danish, however we’ve chosen two of her soulful demos sung in English purely to demonstrate her vocal versatility. Kit also shines in her live performances and we strongly recommend attending her shows when the chance arises. We really hope 2015 is the breakthrough year for one of our favourite vocalists!
Zacharias
Zacharias (see main picture) is a young Danish singer we’ve followed for the past two years. A composer, writer, singer and musician he’s got soul and funk running through his veins!
Zac (Zacharias William Celinder) is determined to create and expand the sound of soul music from Scandinavia, and his smooth layered demo track ‘Here 2 Love’, has a hint of Stevie Wonder, cool retro keys and soulful, heartfelt vocals.
SOULSWEDE
Swedish band The Neoholics burst into 2014 with their version of Pharrell Williams ‘Happy’, and since then we’ve loved everything they’ve released. Hidden on Johan’s (The Neoholics Keyboard player/producer) playlist we discovered another diamond groove, ‘Show me your Love’.
2015 has already started to sound like another super soulful year!
