Josef Park releases soulful collab with jazz cat Jimmy Kuf

Josefs’ Swedish sung soul and hip hop mix, (we cleverly named soul-hop), engaged from the start. Parks’ language is both traditional and modern, while smooth and laid-back. The Soul-hop artist continues to make a name for himself in Swedens’ music scene with tracks such Snacka Snacket, Mönster and his collaborations with emerging R&B artist Diza Guava (Print Screen).

Hur lång tid har vi kvar? (“How much time do we have left?”) produced by Jimmy Kuf is just another good stepping on point.

Josef skilfully varies his vocal dynamics creating a seductive intrigue. The deliciously warm groove flows with funk and soul. And the JBs sample hits like a licking stick!

Jimmy Kuf is a producer we’ve been keeping an eye on since his debut releases on Soundcloud several years back. His sonic design on tracks Spela Roll and Crepuscular Ray revealed an understanding of space, dynamics and jazzy modernity.

Both Jimmy and Josef are from Värmland in Sweden, and grew up only a few miles apart but have still never met in reality. Their collaboration was born connecting via Instagram and a mutual fascination with each other’s music and style. Jimmy Kuf sent the instrumental cut to Josef and asked if he wanted to lay vocals.

Jimmy found the right man, for the right job.
The rest is now in Sweden’s soul history books.
