If however, you are searching for a mind-expanding experience into the alternative universe of soul – Funk-Viol is your lady.

The albums’ title ❀❀❀❀ (yes, it is four flowers) is an invitation to a flourishing garden of alternative beats with ethereal Swedish sung lyrics.

The 13-track album takes you through a pathway of contemporary, intriguing and mysterious music. The collection moves like a bottle on the ocean – swaying between calm and stormy. Throughout her soundscapes, the woozy basslines steal the show, whether deliciously deep, rhythmically energetic or glitteringly futuristic.

Funk-Viol (previously known as Melody Carlsson) uses her voice, as an organic vine intertwining her delicate vocals. While her vocals may not be the strongest, she crafts instead poetry that appears and rescinds with intrigue. There are messages in her words that regretfully allude me though Swedish speakers can decipher and reveal deeper dimensions.

My suggestions are the tracks; Öknen får blommorna att blomma, Haha, Väckelsemöte, Diggiloo, diggiley, and the superb Kanske jag får falla.

Another solid nugget is Min vän såg dig på 11:an (igår när du sa du var hemma). The bassline is so massive it would make the cup in Jurassic Park tip over!
