Swedish artist Maiah Lay releases her debut single – I’m Fallin’, a fusion of soul, jazz, and pop.
Hailing from Uppsala, a largely student-based city in mid-Sweden, 23 years old Maiah Lay was selected explicitly by producer and jazz pianist Daniel Lantz (Beat Funktion) for a new collaboration. Daniel has worked with some of Swedens finest vocalists such as Adée, Viktoria Tolstoy and Sani Goletz, and here he creates the foundation for Maiah’s sound.
His unique fingerprints resonate in the funky keys, jazzy arrangement, and an unmistakable touch by incorporating space for a scintillating electric guitar solo by Jonas Isaksson. However, it’s Maiah Lays’ strong, soulful vocals that remain centerstage.
I’m Fallin’ is about the love of your dreams – to fight for them despite resistance, skepticism, and competition from the surroundings.
